I am Blaine Ty Hensley and I am from Calhoun, Georgia. In 10th grade I decided to try out for the school play because I was fed up with being bad at sports. I had no experience in acting, singing, or dancing, but I got the lead in Footloose, then again in The Addams Family, then again, and about two more times, ending my Highschool career with the lead in Fiddler On The Roof.
Then, I went to the University of North Georgia for 4 years and graduated December 2022 with a Film Production Major. Now I work full time in the industry, continuing to craft my own stories as well -- hoping to do it full time! I am centered in Gainesville, GA.
I enjoy many types of film and have a keen interest in classic cinema (pre 2000's).
I became intoxicated with cinema soon after I got into theatre and fell more so in love with it than theatre. The first film I ever fell deeply in love with -- and the actor I also fell in love with -- and the film that made me decide to go into film was The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly by Sergio Leone starring Clint Eastwood. Soon after I acquired an interest for Westerns, crime films, and gritty thrillers thanks to the discovery of directors like Sergio Leone, Sam Peckinpah, Dario Argento, Jean-Pierre Melville,
Sergio Corbucci, Takeshi Kitano, and many others, I began expanding my knowledge of cinema backwards and beyond the 60s and 70s. Now I am a super fan of particular times like the 80s, the 50s and our current 2010 and onwards'.
Hopefully that gives you a pretty good idea of who I am as a wanna-be filmmaker. God Bless!
I hope you enjoy this little passion project. It means a lot to me that you're watching and even considering the film as an entry, since this is my first production through the college.
I have made many experimental pictures before this, but UP IN THE AIR is my first attempt at making a film with a crew (meaning more than 3 people) and dedicating significant time to the picture. We spent five nights filming from 6PM to 6AM shooting the beast and I'm so proud to present this completed film. Thank you so much.
