Civil Society Organizations especially nonprofit organizations have played a significant role in addressing the SDG Goal 4 which is quality education. Untold Impact explains the education inequities and substandard quality of education in Nigeria in which over 10 million children are out of school and what Civil Society organizations are doing to work with the Nigerian government to address these issues.

Director Biography - Efua Edeh, Ikhide Elens Eigbokhan

Ehizefua (Efua) Edeh is currently a Development Consultant, researcher, teacher and public speaker who works to empower organizations institutionally, to advocate for change in democracy in their chosen thematic areas.

As the founder and Chief Development Officer of Social Impact Consulting formerly Trullyunique Limited, she teaches seminars to ensure organizations are able to realize the power within to enact change in society. In addition, she inspires and encourages individuals through personalized coaching and development to become the leaders of the 21st century. Efua received her B.S. in Chemistry from Saint Xavier University, Chicago and her M.B.A. in Public Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management. In addition, she received a First Bank Sustainability Certificate from Lagos Business School, and a Social Sector Management Certificate from the Enterprise Development Center. Efua is also a founding member of the United Congress of Community and Religious Organizations, an alliance that brings diverse organizations in Illinois to address systemic issues of oppression to people of color. She also worked with the Target Area Development Corporation (Chicago) senior team to spread the alliance to Indiana and Michigan.

As a consultant, Efua has worked with clients including the National Democratic Institute, Chemonics International, DevTech Systems, and many more, providing technical support to Nonprofit Organizations around Nigeria providing support in Program Management, Monitoring and Evaluation, Advocacy and Institutional strengthening. She created an Advocacy curriculum used in multiple countries in sub-Saharan Africa. Efua has also facilitated strategy sessions to ensure activities are connected to a holistic goal to engage marginalized groups in the electoral process, anti-corruptions and other thematic areas in Nigeria.

Through the inspiring work of Nigerians around the country, Efua is a content creator and capacity strengthening for nonprofit organizations, and interviews Development Experts regarding how they started and run successful organizations. This enables knowledge exchange in the Civic space in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, she produced and directed the content of the Anambra State elections in 2017, and Civil Society’s collaborative effort in Voter Education through the “Vote Not Fight” campaign. Currently, she produced a multi-part documentary UNTOLD IMPACT, the role of Civil Society in Development.

In this Episode of UNTOLD IMPACT, I wanted to highlight a few issues in the Nigeria's education system. The light at the end of the tunnel is Civil Society organization started by citizens who carried the burden of education inequities and made an impact.
