Untitled Pakistan Climate Change Documentary

Pakistan experienced devastating floods in August of 2020 impacting just under 40 million people and a third of the country. The Canadian population consists of ~38 million people (2020). The South Asian country continues to be impacted heavily by the environmental crisis for a country that contributes less than 1% to global emissions. This disproportional, unfortunate reality ranks Pakistan 5th most affected by climate change. Consisting of a picturesque region in the country's north of Gilgit-Baltistan home to 5 of the 14 8000m peaks, GB is predicted to displace 70% of its population by 2023 due to climate change-related causes. Sukkar, in the south of Pakistan, known globally as one the hottest cities on the planet, will become inhabitable due to rising temperatures in this decade.

The climate clock notes merely over 6 years for the earth to maintain a sub-1.5 degree temperature increase. Pakistan does not have the privilege of waiting 6 years before experiencing environmental havoc and is paying a price for mistakes they have yet to make.
