United
A teenager is forced into living with his grandfather and they can't seem to find any common ground. A family bond is torn apart and only one thing can reunite them, football.
It's a game of pride.

Liam is a South Wales-based filmmaker currently working within music, film and commericals as a camera assistant across the south of the UK.
Recently, Liam graduated from Aberyswyth University with First-class BA Honours in Filmmaking. Graduating alongside him were his collaborators and treasured friends, Niall Murphy and Kieron Shand. Together they have worked to create their graduate piece, United, a short film centering around the difficult and delicate subject of family.
As a filmmaker, I am always compelled to tell stories that really mean something, not just to me but to the audience who I want to connect deeply to the pieces I create.
United is a film that I've needed to make for a long time. Pulling from personal experiences, the film touches on the difficult and delicate nature of family relationships. It was important to me when writing this film to be honest and to write a story which was true.
I wanted to create a film that was less high-concept, focusing on the wider world and more on the people that live within it. Looking into the lives of real people and genuine human emotion. I wrote from experience and heart and I truly hope this is conveyed in the film.
The crew went above and beyond for this project. Shooting during the pandemic was no easy task but everyone involved, cast and crew, put their all into creating a film we could all be proud of.
A massive thank you to everyone who contributed to the creation of United. We are a small team and I couldn't be more proud of what we created together!
Diolch!
