Und setze mich nieder im Regen zu den andern

The film "And sit down in the rain to the others" refers to film scenes from Slatan Dudow’s and Bertolt Brecht’s “Kuhle Wampe” (1932) and Joris Ivens’ “Regen” (1929/1941), for both of which Eisler composed the music. In Faroqhi's drawings, references to city views of the 1930s mix in loose succession with views of contemporary Berlin. Additionally, Eisler's stages of emigration are recorded in a handwritten note by his future wife Lou Eisler.
