Dante González Leal, born in 1996, is from Monterrey, Nuevo León, MX. In 2017 he started studying a bachelor's degree in language and audiovisual production, in the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León college. His experiences among hostile family environments, mental health and economic struggle have inspired him to share stories of people that feel trapped and need to break out.
"I wanted to tell a story about the consequences of remaining silent in front of the pain of others, specially in abuse situations. With my team's help, I approached this by attempting to abstract the very experience of a hostile domestic environment based on my own experiences, and translating that abstraction into the cinematographic language of the short film; Creating frames that, with a different lightning and color grading, would probably be just some casual everyday family, but filled it with an ominous atmosphere both visually and sonically, we can get to represent something that is supposed to be one thing (A family, a home), but it's not. And remaining silent will not change that."
