Director Statement

Inspired by mother nature, this experimental short film features the most unique and beautiful aerial views of the planet Earth. Film consists of original satellite landscapes, which were made using modern digital technology and new techniques. The film is created in 3D from scratch. Some of the locations were recreated from real satellite images and some were created using the combination of different techniques such as matte painting, 3D modelling and 3D scans.

I started working on this film because I wanted to challenge myself, learn new skills and get new experience. UP is a unique film and I have never seen a similar project before, so I also think that I was able to bring something new to this industry. I was inspired by real satellite images of NASA to create this film. I found that it is a very good idea to have fun and try to create something like that myself using 3D softwares. So I decided to show people their everyday places from an unusual angle. I started experimenting with landscapes and at first it was a little difficult to get a realistic look, but I was lucky enough to keep practicing and achieve the result that you all can see now. I am very honored by seeing my film being accepted to international film festivals and reaching a larger audience.
