UNDER OUR SKIN
UNDER OUR SKIN is an experimental documentary that deals with a deeper analysis of the topic of tattoos and some individuals
who own them. The goal of the documentary is to, through an in-depth conversation with different tattoo lovers,
get a wider perspective on why specific people choose and like to get tattooed. No matter what the tattoo is
as an increasingly popular form of expression, it is still somewhat of a taboo topic in Serbia and there are various prejudices associated with it and
with the people who choose to get them, so one important aspect of the documentary is getting to know these people more deeply through each interview.
"The only common question asked to all interviewed subjects is related to their experiences when getting their first tattoos,
the questions were adjusted for each subject based on the author's previous acquaintance with the individual and the flow of the conversation.

Emilia Jane Urosevic, born in Oakland, California has been a director, photographer, and animator since 2021 and has graduated from the Faculty of Computer Science in Belgrade, Serbia. She participated as an animator, actress, and translator in the film Pera does not know when his wife gave birth, let alone a hippo, which won the award for best editing and best experimental film at the 2023 Student Film Festival and was presented at many other festivals. She is the co-director and director of photography on the film Rhythm of the City.
Under Our Skin is her debut film, a short experimental documentary.
Considering that the author is 23 years old, has finished collage, and is broke, the author is in the middle of an existential crisis and wants to take her anxiety medication after personal problems and 12 years of schooling, so she considers the whole concept of writing a biography completely meaningless and a waste of time and life.
I'm planning on continuing my research and education when it comes to people and the relationship they have with their tattoos. I think they say a lot about a person and this film just represents the beginning of that journey.
