UNCLAD COURAGE. John's Story.

For more than half his life, John (61), has been working on himself to break free of the male societal norms that he learned growing up. Societal norms that define being 'a man'. He grew up learning that men are supposed to be 'John Wayne' - strong, tough, and protect the ones you love. You might have feelings, but only for a minute, because you have a job to do."  John is learning through the years that that narrow definition of being a man is not healthy and that in vulnerability there is strength.  

Brick by brick John has been knocking down the wall that had kept him from being a newly definition of a man. A non- performative male. A man who could 'be vulnerable'. Through his work with UNCLAD COURAGE, he is gaining access to becoming comfortable in his body, and gaining access to his feelings and the ability to express them more fully. To love and be loved.
