Katie Evans, pen name K. Evans, is an award winning playwright and experienced screenwriter. K. Evans has written many one-act plays as well as a handful of full-length plays and films.
K. Evans's most notable work is titled Umbra, a full-length play that has placed as a Second Rounder in the 2022 Austin Film Festival.
Umbra has also placed as a finalist two years in a row in the Screen Crafts Stage play competition and currently holds a Red List spot via Coverfly.
With the help of her colleague and friend Isa Luzarraga, Evans plans to bring Umbra to the screen.
Isa Luzarraga is a freelance writer in addition to being an actress. She met Evans on the set of Four Lights Films' production, Dancing With Georgia. Luzarraga is an award-winning journalist and has been published in outlets nationwide.
By combining her penchant for writing with her love for film, she hopes to grow her screenwriting abilities.
Both Evans and Luzarraga strive to be intentional and thoughtful in any and all mediums they work in. Storytelling is inherently personal, and whenever they are creating, the two women are mindful of agency and representation. They seek to create space for other voices via their writing while also translating their personal experiences and applying them to a wider audience.
