Two Sides of the Same World

“Two Sides of the Same World" moves on the edge of social documentary and autobiography, with elements from inspirational and self-improvement films (self-help documentary).

Above all, however, the film is a dream and an inspiration of the protagonist, Paraskevi Salavgia. Born prematurely with cerebral palsy and left hemiplegia due to premature birth, Paraskevi fought her own battle far from our eyes, "wrapped" by the love of her family. She fought for years with so much success that her disability almost passed into the realm of the invisible, the world of "invisible" disability. She herself did not want to stay there.

Her dream is to speak to all people with disabilities and their families. To encourage them to seek options, find ways to empower themselves, and enjoy life. In the film, she documents her own journey, the experience of the choices she has made, subscribing with confidence and optimism to a deafening "dare.”

But Paraskevi, throughout the film, also addresses everyone else, already from the title. It is addressed to eyes that are fooled, that forget that each person carries a whole world there ...on the other side of the coin that we often pass over. The main axis of the film, apart from the choices - suggestions of Paraskevi, is to raise awareness of the so-called "invisible" disability. A message of empathy, a prompt for thought above and beyond about what the other person may be struggling against, with or without a disability.

This is a wish for all of us to love this one world we share in every version of it.
