On a quest to understand the relationship between his body dysmorphia, growing up closeted, and the culture his parents tried to reclaim after migrating from Pakistan; Tushar’s work explores the boundaries that interconnect food, immigration and sexuality, while toying with the moral grey that pulsates through our species.
He is a writer-director, production designer, and cinematographer whose practice involves street photography, experimental documentaries, and interpretative music videos.
After spending 7 years helping build a $1bn-valued tech startup across Southeast Asia, Tushar gave up his job to chase his dreams: weaving stories through frames. He’s worked with VICE as a creative producer for the last 2 years, crafting narratives that shine a spotlight on the lesser known facets of Asian culture.
Made in Bombay, India, today Tushar lives in Boston, Massachusetts where he spends his evenings navigating the existential swirls of pursuing a Master's in Fine Arts degree.
