Turner is about a family that suffers traumatic events as a young couple just starting a new life as African
Americans in the year 1918. Mrs. Turner’s husband was lynched for the color of his skin, as it was a
craze of spreading this type of hate by white supremist supporters in the states. As She grieves and
reminisced about her husband, she was also angered and spoke out for justice.
The mob of white supremist supporters got wind of Mrs. Turner’s bravery and felt the need to find her
to teach her a lesson. In the mind of the supremist supporters, Mrs. Turner should never have the
audacity to speak for justice but rather hang her head down just like her husband but without the rope.
Mrs. Turner got word that she must run, the mob is coming for her. At eight months pregnant she ran to
the woods as fast as she could. Bearing the grief of her husband and the barring of her unborn child she
ran like the river. As the run for her life was beginning to be unbearable as she could feel the mob
closing in.
Within a sudden swift moment, Mrs. Turner was captured. The mob hung her upside down from a tree
by her ankles, cut open her stomach as her unborn baby came into the world. The baby hit the ground
and let out its first and last cry. A boot of hate stomps the head of this precious soul. The mob then set
the body of Mrs. Turner on fire and riddled her with an arsenal of bullets.

Director Biography - Shon Javis Turner

Shon. Turner was born in Hampton,Va January 23,1971 Shon is a inspiring film maker who has a artistic passion for creative story telling through the lens He also join the army and ended up in Texas. After a honorable discharge Shon attended central Texas college studying graphic design. Then open his own photography business and freelanced as a photographer for the Killeen daily herald also self teaching himself music production, video editing and steady working to get better with his favorite tool the camera. After a long time of paying dues his work ethic is his biggest attribute and now the first short film is born ‘Turner”

Searching for my history, Turner as it is my last name I came across a story about a young couple who suffered at the hands of hate with my last name. So heartbroken about it and our history being erased I felt obligated to recreate their story so they are not forgotten.
