Director Biography - Jjemba Enock Timothy

Jjemba Enock Timothy is a director, writer, and editor pursuing a bachelor's degree in film at Kampala Film School where he hopes that his experience in the field will be strengthened.

He has been privileged to have been able to create some of the best documentaries and films with his production house Dominus Films. Some of his work has been screened and nominated at accredited film festivals such as the Uganda film festival, AFRIFF, and PIFF in 2021. He has been able to win notable prizes and also be selected to take part in the Durban Film Mart 2022 as well as the Dw Akademia film development program of 2022. He was the winner of the best student film at the Uganda film festival in 2022 and nominated for the student World Impact Film Festival in 2022. Telling stories he lives is his new blood as he sharpens his skills so that stories are not only watched but felt.

Director Statement

As a young filmmaker in this art form that speaks to more than I can reach I chose to speak with a people’s voice about the fears and feelings surrounding the elections tensions. I wanted to convey a message of peace rather than the news we watched I hoped it would convey a better message to my fellow youths. And as a filmmaker, I chose to speak with pictures with emotions and feelings because that is the backbone of the film.
