Originally from Columbia, Missouri, Troy graduated with a BFA in Acting from the USC School of Dramatic Arts (2017). During that time he spent his summers acting with the Montana Shakespeare Company (credits include 12th Night, King Lear, The Rivals, The Three Musketeers) where he got his first experience in film playing a supporting role in Bryan Ferriter's Wuthering Heights (2014). While Troy's background has been mostly in the theater (most recent credits include The Caucasian Chalk Circle, Antaeus Theater Co.), he's always dreamed big when it came to the movies. After directing, producing, and co-starring in his own Equity Production of Shakespeare’s Henry IV Part I (2018), he shifted his focus to writing. He then developed So Shot, a story inspired through personal experience and years of bartending. His longtime friend and co-worker Ben Goglia and he both shared the same desire to make a that felt like the ones that inspired them to pursue a career in the film industry. They founded Guthrie & Goglia Productions as a means to get So Shot started and brought on Bryan to direct. After two and a half years of work, he's thrilled to share the film with audiences throughout the 2024 festival circuit and is looking forward to Guthrie & Goglia's future creating feature films.
