Raised in Nice, France, Laury began exploring filmmaking as a youngster, using her parent’s old camera. She believes all stories are worth telling, especially when they are controversial and/or able to raise awareness. Highly imaginative, she finds her inspiration in her travels and daily life. With a Bachelor Degree in “Science of Information and Communication” and film studies, she moved to England to follow a Postgraduate Filmmaking course at the Northern Film School, specializing in Directing.
Freely inspired by true events, “Trashbag” follows the journey of a young boy, Billy, struggling to find a family (and a place) in a world where everything as a value and can be marketed – even kids.
Filmed from a child perspective, the film transposes the Rehoming processes through the vision of a young character. With a vibes similar to the TV series “Black Mirror”, “Trashbag” initialize a reflexion on what is going on in our world, and what the direction we are taking will lead to.
Despite its dark subject, this film is designated to touch a wide range of spectators, thus because of the way it is showed. “Trashbag” exposes in a cynical way this subversive story which directly critics the society we are leaving in, even more because of its relationship with real facts.
