Director Statement

My documentary is about two men who tell their experiences around mental health problems and how discovering exercise has helped them handle it much better and how exercise is so important to them due to sustaining their mental health.

This story need to be told because statistics has proven that men in the UK have the highest rates of registered suicide deaths by three quarters compared to woman. 77% men a year report stress, depression, or anxiety and only 40% of men have spoken to anyone about it. 29% said they have not done so because they are ashamed of it and 20% say there is a "negative stigma" on it regarding men who suffer with mental health problems.

It will be told through moving imagery of video footage of the two subjects exercising in the gym, outdoors and working from home, doing their daily jobs with various b-roll linked to the location that they are in.

An interview with both subjects telling their stories is used as a voiceover throughout the various footage, which match the footage used.
