Director Biography - Ivana Vogrinc Vidali

Ivana Vogrinc Vidali, born in 1997 in Maribor. In August 2014 at the DokuDoc workshops she made her first film - Cat Pilgramage (Romanje za maco, 2014). In 2016, she became a student of Film and television directing at the Academy of Theater, Radio, Film and Television, University of Ljubljana, where she directed a short feature film Blind spot (Mrtvi kot, 2017), experimental documentary On the Moon, Luna and Their Reflection (O luni, mesecu in njunem odsevu, 2018), which was among other festivals included in the student competition program of the largest and most important Eastern European Documentary Film Festival, Ji.hlava 2019, and her diploma short feature film Trans-celestial railways (Transnebesna železnica, 2020). Outside the academy she directed short experimental film Vialund (2019), that had been screened at the FeKK 2019 festival and at the Slovenian Film Festival 2019. Under ACT: Art, Climate, Transition, produced by the Bunker Institute, tandem Ivana Vogrinc Vidali and Tery Žeželj created installation Archive of Self-Sufficiency. The installation was also hosted by international festival Mladi levi (Young Lions) 2020.
She is a member of the Društvo za razvoj filmske kulture v Mariboru, within which she curates Ekstremno slovensko 2 program (film events of young filmmakers). During the lockdown those have been hosted by Slovenian Film Database. As an author of video trailers she collaborated with the Mestno gledalisce ljubljansko (City Theater of Ljubljana) and as a videographer with organisation City of Women. In the start of year 2021, she passed entry exams for Prague film Academy FAMU, where she will continue her studies at cathedra for Film directing.
