Tracing the Rails
In this pilot episode of Tracing the Rails, we embark on a journey through Shoreham-by-Sea, a vibrant coastal town in Sussex where the Steyning Railway Line once thrived. We delve into the railway’s vital role in shaping the town's history, bringing local stories to life with archival footage, drone shots, and interviews. Exploring remnants of the line, we reveal how this railway connected communities and industries before its closure. This premiere sets the stage for a compelling series, blending heritage and discovery along the tracks of a bygone era.

I am an editor, director, and filmmaker with a deep-rooted passion for local history and storytelling. Lots of experience, but no qualification in filmmaking, my journey began in the analogue days, splicing videotape and editing on Umatic and Betamax formats. I went on to work alongside industry professionals and contributed to pioneering projects, including filming and editing and helping release the UK’s first-ever DVD adventure game. I now direct "Tracing the Rails", a documentary series that explores the lost Steyning Line in West Sussex. Combining professional-grade production with a storyteller’s sensitivity. It is a community based non-profit documentary series which I created, direct, edit and film.
I love the medium of film and television and have wanted a big break all of my life. In the meantime, I just keep producing whatever I can!
