Traces of Eliza
From Director Carlos G Sanchez comes a film like you've never seen. Please be prepared for a wild ride. Samantha (Samantha Verheyen) is just a young American girl who lives care-free, but when the stresses of life, work, relationships and anxiety break her down; symptoms of a disorder begin to surface. The dark side of herself who she calls Eliza leaves behind a trail of blood and a shell of her former self. When lipstick leaves stains three kisses are all that remains.

My name is Carlos G. Sanchez, a native Texan, born & raised in San Antonio. First and foremost, I'm an artist not a film-maker, film is just another medium to project my creative wisdom. I have been an artist ever since I can remember. I started with drawings, paintings, sculptures and eventually music. In my adolescence I was classically trained to play many instruments. In my teens I began playing heavy metal but after many bandmates began not showing up or putting in any effort I decided to become a one man band which eventually lead me to producing and creating IDM, electronic indie music. It wasnt until college that I found film as the best medium to pursue my creative dreams. However, filming in San Antonio would prove to be harder and more demanding than I ever imagined. So I wrote a small script, went to several actors studios, only to get shown the door because I did meet the criteria. I'm not a quitter, so I started making films on my phone, which was the most exhilarating time I've ever had filming, no audio, no lights just a script and a camera. After coming up with a good script I gathered my friends to shoot my first feature with a $5k budget. The winning recipe was remaining focused on the budget & doing 90% of all the required jobs myself. So here I am 25 films later, & I'm still hopeful about finding actors, producers or a crew that have the passion & work ethic I do. Traces of Eliza is my best work yet, after watching it and viewing the credits you will find I filled all the positions myself since we had a $3k budget for a 30min short. Over the last 15yrs, I have been arrested, risked my life multiple times, ruined relationships and lost a great deal of my money but film is forever and pain is just temporary.
Pain is temporary film is forever.
