Trace, Tread
An otherwise typical day in the studio is shifted when a dancer’s notes animate into geometric objects. The magic that exists in the mundanities of the everyday is made physical as the dancer stirs the room with her energy and ideas. Memories of movement hang in the air until the momentum of ideas are exhausted.

Jenna Berlyn is a contemporary dance artist based in Vancouver, B.C. She is a graduate of Modus Operandi Contemporary Dance Program under the artistic direction of Tiffany Tregarthen and David Raymond, where her final year was completed on scholarship from the BC Arts Council. Through MO, Jenna had the pleasure of performing works by many local choreographers. She has pursued summer training at The Banff Centre: The Creative Gesture, b12 festival, Eastman/Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, RUBBERBAND and Henny Jurriëns Foundation. As a freelance artist, she has performed in works by Paras Terezakis/Kinesis Dance, Daisy Thompson, Jennifer Mcleish-Lewis, Caldonia Walton and Still Moon Arts Society. As well as interpreting the works of others, Jenna excitedly pursues her own choreographic interests through performance and film. She was a 2019 commissioned artist with Festival of Recorded Movement, where her dance and animation film, Trace, Tread, premiered in September 2019. Currently, Jenna is on scholarship with EDAM.
