Toxic Shock
Tatiana wakes up confused about where she is, what happened the night before, and why there's a gorgeous man sleeping next to her. She discreetly makes her way to the washroom to avoid disturbing her mystery partner, until she discovers an unwanted surprise. She hurries back to the bed and finds out that her worst nightmare has come true. She's left a giant red period stain on the bed. Suddenly, Tatiana feels like a criminal in a crime scene and does everything in her power to hide the evidence. Despite her best efforts of hiding the stain, it only gets worse. She ends up calling her best friend Sarah to come to the rescue. Just as she's about to escape, Tatiana realizes that maybe she's not so guilty of a crime after all.

Hello! My name is Jamie Norrie and I am a filmmaker from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and a recent Toronto Film School graduate. During my time in the Film Production program, I had many opportunities to learn all about what goes into making a film, from development to distribution and got to put these skills to the test by directing my thesis short film, Toxic Shock. I grew up being a shy, indecisive and anxious girl. I always worried about the future, was constantly afraid of growing up and often turned to “feel good” movies for comfort. Thankfully, I got to grow up watching some of the best “coming of age” films and romantic comedies ever made. Without realizing at the time, these movies had a significant impact on my life. Not only did they manage to shape my personality and sense of humour, they also had the ability to bring me back in time, and make me feel young again every time I watched them. After years of self doubt, I finally had the confidence to tell my own stories about growing up, find my own voice and become a filmmaker. I aspire to make Tina Fey proud by making comedies that will not only teach you about the painful journey of growing up (while simultaneously making you laugh your ass off), but also have that same special power to make you feel young again.
Every woman has a story. Many women have THAT story. You know, the story of when they got their period for the first time. This story is a special one, because you remember exactly what that moment felt like. I want this film to show a positive reaction about how to handle getting your period unexpectedly. I want this film to be the encouragement that my mom gave me when I first got my period at 13 years old. I also want this film to promote discussions about periods, as the terms and conditions for Period Club are changing. The first rule of Period Club is to realize it’s completely normal to talk about Period Club.
