Rita is a young illegal immigrant, who works as a call girl, arrives on the first night of Covid-19 curfew in Israel, to the wrong address. Here she meets David, a charming but disturbingly odd Israeli, who’s not interested in her company in any way. There are police out everywhere checking everyone, and Rita must find a way to convince David to let her stay in his apartment until her driver comes. This is a chance meeting of a woman whose body is available to all, but her heart is closed, and a man whose body is closed, but has an open heart. They must find a way to communicate, speak and to hear each other. They will spend a night together that will change their lives forever.

Director Biography - Boris Kazhdan

In 1990 I immigrated with my family to Israel.
In 2009 graduated from Tel Aviv University - David and Yolanda Katz Faculty of the Arts, with a BFA diploma.
In 2014 graduated from Haifa University - Faculty of Education with a teaching certificate.
I’ve been working in film productions since 2003 mostly as a DP and a Steadicam operator.
From 2018 until now, alongside teaching in high school, I’ve been working mostly on my projects in film productions.

Director Statement

Usually, I start my work with a character development. I came up with the first character - David. And right after, as the complete opposite of him, Rita appeared. This is an ironic love story between two people - who probably would have never met under any other circumstances.
Our project was filmed at the middle of the Covid-19 epidemic in Israel, between quarantines, with long breaks between shooting periods. Most of the shooting was at night time, that made this whole thing even harder. However, all the actors were ready to work in any conditions. Those brave actors and our small technical team had never complained about anything. And in my opinion, they are the true reason that our project exists.
This project became really personal for every and each of us and he has changed us. He made us all express ourselves to the maximum, both, in a creative and professional way. This project raised me personally to the next level of my development as a director. So, no matter what happens after, I know that this movie is not only mine, but our biggest success in life.
