To the Other Side

Jimmy writes letters to his dead father, since the mother is not present. One day he meets a boy in the same age and they become friends. We follow the world of a twelve-year old during a week in a suburb, the year is 1992.
The film is based on true storys from the childhood of me, the director. In early 90s a lot of boys grew up in this socially exposed area without any support from their surrounding or society. I saw how grown-ups had very low expectations on my male friends, they did not get the emotional support they needed and in some cases no one cared if the child even went to school. I want to show how the boys experienced life in early age. In teenages several of them ended up in criminality, depression, jail or death.
