Toko Film Fest is an exhibition intended for cinema lovers, both audience and professionals. Toko is a word from Sala Consilina, South Italy. It means something is cool, fun, well-done.
Our festival has seen the light in 2014, from the necessity to breathe life and cultural interest in our area, the Vallo di Diano.
Toko wants to create a dialogue between people and the world of cinema, especially the independent and experimental one.
TFF’s mission is to provide a forum to advance public interest in film; to support every year a new generation of filmmakers with a unique vision and to promote artistic excellence and the creative freedom of artists without censure.
By establishing a working network among filmmakers, producers and marketing professionals, we share one common goal: to forge productive and lasting relationships between independent filmmakers and audiences.
Every year our short movie contest receives thousands of submissions from every corner of the globe and we’re proud to screen and award the best ones.
We wish to celebrate creativity and determination in short-length filmmaking generating contacts between audience, young directors and professionals.
We pay special attention to ultra low-budget films by first and second-time directors: discovering and promoting independent filmmakers is at the very center of our efforts!
Filmmakers of selected films are invited to the Festival to participate in a variety of programs.
Our guests during the years have been several, with Nanni Moretti, Béla Tarr, Linda Caridi, Marianna Fontana, Valerio Lundini, Mauro Zingarelli, Valerio Aprea, Casa Surace and Fortunato Cerlino as cherries on top.
Toko Film Fest mixes entertainment with cultural growth: exhibitions, talk shows and inner concerts have passed on our stage among the screenings.
Our not-so-secret purpose is also to bring people who lives outside the region to visit and love our place, creating tourism and a sustainable economy.
Our submission window for our 11th edition is now open. Send us your ambitious and original short projects and let us help you reach an even wider audience!
A committee designated by the organizers will carry out the selection of the submitted works by decreeing the shortlist of films admitted to the final round. The Official Selection will be published on the website www.tokofilmfestival.it and on our official channels by the 1 April 2023.
The festival program will consist of international short films of different styles, genres and languages.
Our Jury , who come from filmmaking and academic backgrounds, will award the following prizes:
