Caitlin P. Williams is an SFSU Cinema student and filmmaker specializing in documentary. Her work focuses on experimentation with film format to present more creative modes of storytelling.
Her goal as a filmmaker: to tell stories that uplift, inspire, and educate audiences to take action against the oppression they see in their world, country, communities, and lives.
This film is deeply personal to me. As a bi-racial Fil-Am with strong ties to my mother's country, the election of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. left me confused and furious. His campaign misinformed the public on the realities of martial law and the Marcos regime.
I made this film in an effort to counteract that. The purpose of this film is to present the reality of martial law, the depravity of the Marcos regime, and the danger of his son's presidency.
If I could ask audiences to take anything away from this film, it is that: in the face of oppression we have a responsibility to do/say what we believe is right.
