Angela Ye is a Chinese American movement artist, teacher, and choreographer based in Seattle. Angela trained at the Chinese Dance Academy all her life, studying traditional Chinese techniques as well as ballet. Angela is currently in her final year at Cornish College of the Arts and will receive her BFA in dance in May 2025. In her time at Cornish, Angela has worked with artists such as Alia Swersky, Nia-Amina Minor, Rodrick Barnes, and many more. Angela’s work brings together traditional Chinese techniques and contemporary dance. As Angela graduates she hopes to lead the Chinese Dance Academy and become the sole studio owner. She hopes to continue to spread her culture and art through the community.
This film is inspired by my Chinese dance culture and heritage along with my parents history with the art form.
