Nanci was born in Lisbon (Portugal), and at a very young age moved with her family to Spain, where she grew up and graduated in arts and humanities in high school. In 2003, she started her first degree in Linguistics and English in uni and took a gap year to study a one-year diploma in production and direction for film and TV. In 2011, she moved to London to get further training in directing and acting until 2015.
She graduated in 2019 with a BA in Film Studies at Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge, where she developed her final year major project about the “Contemporary Ibero-American productions and their distribution in the film industry in comparison with Hollywood”. During her time in Cambridge, she produced her projects and helped other young filmmakers/directors. She finished in 2021 her MA in Film Distribution and Marketing at BCU (Birmingham City University).
She worked as a content producer and editor for companies such as Little Dot Studios and Jellysmack. She now works as a publicist for the film industry in the UK.
Likewise, she wants to continue working as a filmmaker, and a freelance producer/distributor.
My love for films and this industry brought me great opportunities, great journeys and fantastic adventures. All this is what made me grow as a filmmaker, and the necessity to tell stories from different perspectives.
'To Err' is my first Sci-Fi/Drama short as a professional (outside my academic time). It was directed and produced between UK, Boston and LA, all online during the summer of 2021 and the pandemic. It has been an amazing adventure and experience.
