Tintswalo
What's the film 'Tintswalo' about? The story about Tintswalo was mentioned by the current president of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, in his 2024 State of the Nation Address (SONA). Tintswalo is a fictional character representing South Africans born in 1994, the year apartheid ended. Ramaphosa's tells a story of a child born into poverty who, through government support, was able to access proper housing, education and employment, eventually building a successful life.
This film portrays the struggles faced by the youth, such as Gbv, teenage pregnancy, crime, and corruption. Not only will it portray the struggles but also the benefits of the "Tintswalo" character mentioned by the president.
