Tinti: When We Almost Lost Puerto Rico is more than a film; it’s a tribute to resilience, heritage, and the power of one voice to ignite change. As a director, my goal was to craft a visual narrative that not only honors Tinti’s unwavering dedication to environmental justice and cultural preservation but also reminds us of the profound impact one individual can have on a community and beyond.
I was drawn to this story because it resonates deeply with my personal connection to Puerto Rico and my belief in the transformative power of storytelling. Through interviews, archival footage, and animation, I aimed to weave a tapestry that reflects the beauty, challenges, and triumphs of Tinti’s journey. Each frame is a testament to her legacy and an invitation for audiences to engage in meaningful dialogue about the preservation of our planet and the communities that define it.
As a filmmaker, I see this project as a bridge—connecting past struggles with present-day activism and inspiring future generations to stand for what matters. Tinti is a celebration of courage and a call to action, and I am honored to share her story with the world.
