Time's Price
"Time's Price" is an introspective short film that delves into the profound complexities of human existence, transcending the boundaries of mortality. It unfurls its narrative after a serendipitous encounter where a young boy's life is abruptly interrupted by the chaotic dance of fate, a car collision that severs his connection with time, leaving his watch lost in the tides of destiny. As the story unfolds, it becomes evident that the choices we make have far-reaching consequences, often unexpected and profound. The narrative weaves a tapestry of existence against the captivating backdrop of a whimsically eccentric San Diego, a world where the ordinary is tinged with a surreal brushstroke, inviting viewers to ponder the intricate web of existence and the price we pay for wielding power over time itself.

I'm William Yudis, a junior in college who originally hails from the mesmerizing shores of Maui, Hawaii, and now proudly calls San Diego home. Having grown up in the vibrant tapestry of Hawaiian culture, I've always been drawn to the power of storytelling. Recently, my journey in filmmaking reached a thrilling milestone when my dedicated team and I tackled the ambitious 48-hour filmmaking challenge. Amidst the stunning landscapes of Hawaii, we wove together a narrative that resonates deeply with our roots and the unique spirit of the islands.
As a Jewish filmmaker, I carry with me the values of perseverance, storytelling, and community, which have long been central to my identity. These values, combined with the rich cultural tapestry of San Diego, continue to inspire my work and my commitment to crafting narratives that bridge cultures and ignite conversations. With each project, I aim to explore the depths of the human experience, all while capturing the essence of the diverse world we live in. As I continue my journey as a director, I look forward to the exciting opportunities and challenges that lie ahead, knowing that the intersection of my heritage, my love for filmmaking, and my newfound home in San Diego will continue to shape and enrich my storytelling endeavors.
Crafting our film within the confines of a 48-hour challenge was like trying to juggle flaming coconuts while riding a unicycle on a tightrope – utterly chaotic and absolutely hilarious! We had moments where we felt like mad scientists, concocting wild plot twists and scrambling to capture the perfect shot in the nick of time. Sleep became a distant memory, and caffeine was our closest confidant. The adrenaline was pumping, and our faces showed the unmistakable signs of sleep deprivation mixed with pure exhilaration. It was like a fast-paced, caffeine-fueled comedy sketch, and we emerged from it with a newfound appreciation for the magic that can happen when you throw caution (and sometimes, logic) to the wind in the name of filmmaking. I can't wait to see what other comedic adventures await us in the world of cinema!
