Co-Directed by Robert Butler III and Cade Huseby
Robert Butler III - Robert Butler III is a filmmaker born, raised, and based in Compton, CA. Initially, Robert’s career path veered towards engineering, as he excelled in prestige STEM-oriented magnet middle and high schools. But his love for cinema led him to graduate from the USC School of Cinematic Arts in 2019 - the same school his inspiration John Singleton attended. Robert has worked as a producer, camera operator, and editor for various online video platforms. Still building his directorial body of work, Robert recently co-directed “Time Stamp,” which was selected for 12 festivals and won the Miami Sci-Fi Film Festival for “Best Director.” He dreams of making movies that address environmental racism and benign neglect amongst Black and Brown communities.
Cade Huseby - Cade Huseby is a multi-hyphenate digital artist based in Los Angeles, California. Throughout his short but profilic career, Cade has written and directed films and performances that express truths about the world and his place in it. Through film and television production, Cade writes and directs original content about disillusionment, spirituality, and American pop culture through non-fiction drama and fiction comedy. Whether Cade is producing a documentary about mental health reformation at USC (At What Cost?, 2021) or directing a comedy web series about independent businesswomen (Good on Paper, 2020), his goal is to bring people closer together through integrity, compassion, and the belief that there is more that connects us than divides us.
The idea for Time Stamp was first inspired by a real internet clip of a teenager claiming they were from the future. Why was this person time traveling to begin with? If you had the ability to travel through time, what moments would you go back and try to fix? The most important political elections? An embarrassing moment in front of your whole high school? ... Or possibly stop the tragic, unexpected, and ominous death of your parents. This is the decision our protagonist, Jackie Dixon, chooses to pursue throughout the film.
