My work plays with the spaces that lie in the between. I thrive working within this negative space, which is not a void but rather a vital pause, a gap which holds exciting interplay between realities, objects, people and most importantly narrative structures. This embracement of the inbetween is seen in both my narrative and abstract works.
My work orients around themes of family narratives, storytelling, death and grief explored mainly through mediums of film and photography. I encapsulate these themes through simple, small moments. These moments lead the viewer as well as the characters through a threshold, beyond the scope of the initial moment. Architecture and sculpture are aspects I am constantly experimenting with and use as aid in my storytelling. Although my recent mediums have been filmic, I enjoy drawing, painting, pottery, sculpture, textile and fashion design.
