Till Venice Dies

David Lynch meets Werner Herzog and JLG in a short movie which can be described both as a dreamlike view over the beauties of Venice and as a nightmarish sight on a city which is overrun by tourists. Metaphorically, the oneiric and alienated glimpse expecially focuses on the increasingly immaterial and unrealistic character of the Occidental, late capitalist world – which risks, as Venice does, to sink very soon.
