Rope Dance
In the 168 year-old history of the Budapest Philharmonic Orchestra the support of contemporary - later “classical” – authors, musicians has always played an important role. Today we live in a much more complicated world, so contemporary classical music must also find new ways. We believe that we can turn the desired attention to contemporary music by creating complex, high-quality art productions that are built on music. In the digital form, we can introduce contemporary pieces much more widely, as if we were performing in a concert hall, as our predecessors did. In our “Music Horizon” series - taking the idea of music videos from pop culture as a model - short film samples are made for contemporary classical music.
In the filmed version of Péter Tiszai’s contemporary piece entitled Rope Dance, we visualized the music with the help of circus artists.
