Thrown to Shore
Does today feel different to you? Like, I don't remember what I did yesterday or the day before that. It's like, did I miss something?
A short film about detaching and disappearing when the world seems grim.

Jessie was born in Nashville, TN and raised in Los Angeles, CA.
In 2018, she graduated with a B.A. in Directing and Producing
and a minor in Creative Writing from Cal State Long Beach.
Jessie is inspired by the showmanship of everyday people, revealing humor in the uncomfortable, and defying sex-role stereotypes.
In her free time, she writes and performs sketch comedy and is constantly searching for the best BLT sandwich in LA. You will likely find her reading a copy of MAD magazine in an old diner.
I wanted to make something in quarantine, but nothing felt "right." I got the advice to just "capture a feeling" and that's how I landed on making this short film. I produced this primarily on my own because COVID is really scary and I felt selfish to ask anyone to risk their physical or mental health for a short.
Anyway, I learned a lot while making this. And it captures how I have felt for the past year. I hope it touches you in some way!
