Through Dada’s Eyes
Since 1993, Women for Women International has reached over 500,000 women survivors of conflict and war including nearly 80,000 women living in conflict-affected areas in Northern Nigeria. The women in Nigeria face limited access to health services and education, patriarchal norms, and mounting violence amplified by extremist groups.
Meet Dada Maisaleh, a 32-year-old young woman married with two children living in Bauchi, Nigeria. She escaped from her home in Yobe State to Bauchi after her husband received a letter from Boko Haram members threatening to kill the men in their hometown.
Through Dada’s Eyes is a 360 immersive look into a day in the life of Dada rebuilding her life, family and community against all odds with the support of Women for Women International’s year-long Stronger Women, Stronger Nations program.
The film allows viewers to experience Bauchi through Dada’s eyes, meet her family, hear about the experiences of other women in the program, and learn more about the community in Bauchi, Nigeria.
Dada is a survivor, a bright light, and warrior spirit. Women for Women International invests in the power of women just like her every day.
This moving, heart-touching film is her story.
