Mahela Hettiarachchi is a writer, editor and aspiring director hailing from Down South, Sri Lanka. He found his niche in writing at an early age and developed his passion into a variety of accomplishments. He published his first poetry collection “Adaraneeya Ela Paara” in 2018.
Apart from professional writing, Mahela also freelances as a film critic and serves as a movie director. He was the director of the critically acclaimed Sri Lankan short movie ‘Sneha : The Black in Every Pink’, which was streamed in 2021 in Cinemaworld Asia international movie channel. "Sneha" was the first Sri Lankan movie which was streamed in CinemaWorld. "Three-way Junction" is his second directorial.
This is a slightly weird short film. The long run time (not 40, but 30) and the unique Story telling method add some qualities of a "feature movie" to this project. Similarly, this can be considered as a project which was done by a group of Sri Lankan students, in the time of Corona, from a very low budget. Hope you'll enjoy Three-Way Junction.
