Those who try to do their best

In 2020 we arrived at a production of waste that had never been achieved before thanks to a culture based on a linear economy where it is constantly produced, consumed and thrown, mostly materials that disintegrate over hundreds of years and whose chemical composition causes damage to nature and living organisms including man inexorably. What can ordinary citizens do against economic development? Apparently nothing, but on the Triestine Karst we see a group of volunteers called SOS CARSO who take extra time to sweat, get their hands dirty and risk getting injured in order to give a good example in contrast to this flap of the system where we see over the years of incorrect waste management as well as their production without reuse. Remaining always in the coastal karst area of Friuli Venezia Giulia we listen to some of the terrifying statistical data, explained by the marine biologist of the WWF Marine Reserve of Miramare Carlo Franzosini, concerning the introduction and permanence of waste, in particular of plastic, in the Mediterranean Sea which does not having a great outlet on the ocean this problem is amplified by going up our food chain. There are at least solutions to mitigate this problem, communication barriers must be broken!
