I studied Film and Television Studies at the Ruhr University in Bochum and successfully completed my studies with a Master's degree. Even during my studies, I worked for various film productions in different areas. I was able to deepen and expand my knowledge during an internship at Pille Filmgeräteverleih in Wiesbaden. Among other things, I was involved in the development of the camera recording system for the later 8-time Oscar winner "Slumdog Millionaire". The internship turned into a job as a camera technician and in scheduling until, after 5 exciting years in rental, I took the leap into self-employment in 2012.
For me, film is the most beautiful way to communicate with other people. Information, feelings, insights into new worlds can be directly transported and expressed on moving pictures.
From the very beginning, I was very enthusiastic about working in the camera department. The combination of artistic and technical work fascinates me again and again, whether as a cameraman, camera assistant or as a D.I.T./DataWrangler. Working in a team is particularly important to me, but exciting projects can also be realised without a large crew.
In addition to working in film, I pass on my knowledge, be it in the virtual classroom or 'hands on'. Since 2018, I have been a lecturer at SAE, where I give students an insight into camera and film work.
