Director Statement

This project was so close to not getting finished.
The story was a mess from the get go, before we began shooting in February.
After several endless nights (early mornings) of shooting run and gun around New York City with a two-man crew, which comprised about 70-80% of the shooting schedule, it was no surprise when the majority of the footage didn't cut well in the editing room.
After wrapping in February/March, I lost faith in the project for several months. I worked on other films, etc., and then came back with my editor in December and approached it into a different structure that ended up working.
It was a frustrating process, and I certainly won't make the same mistakes again, but it was an important chapter of my life that I learned so much from, and won't forget.
