This Land
Illegal marijuana growers take refuge in the vast wilderness of the west, reaping the benefits of the lucrative black market and leaving behind poisoned land, water, and wildlife in their wake. This Land journeys alongside scientists and law enforcement agents as they fight to restore public lands that have been ravaged by the growers, and return them to the wildlife from which they have been stolen.

Maddy is a wildlife/fisheries biologist and nature storyteller who wants to give those that dedicate their lives to conservation a voice, and by sharing their stories, inspire change.
Growing up in the rugged landscape of British Columbia, Maddy fell in love with the wild. This love spurred her on to complete a bachelor’s degree in biology and a master’s degree in wildlife filmmaking, all with the hopes of protecting wild places and the wildlife that calls them home. She now works on the rivers of Northern California to protect and preserve pacific salmon populations, and is a wildlife biologist for the BBC Natural History Unit. She is pursuing a career in fish/wildlife biology, but above all, she wants to create films that make a difference.
