This Fleeing Star is a reflection of the complex melange of emotions I was navigating as a freshman in college. I found myself lost, without any sense of identity, and isolated from the communities I had once called home. When I learned about Type Ia Supernovæ in my intro-level astronomy class, the idea of a lonely star floating through the void of outer space spoke to me. I also found reverberations of these themes in my and my peer's anger with gun policy in the United States. Out of these inspirations came the screenplay for This Fleeing Star, which is aptly a collaboration between two friends and our younger siblings.
