Things that are Beautiful and Transient
A young man accepts the help of an unlikely guide to capture a photograph of a rare and fleeting sight.
CONRAD believes he must preserve the beauty of the soon-to-fall Cherry Blossoms in a photograph. However, before he can do that, he must help his dementia-suffering POP to bed.
Conrad quickly takes Pop to bed and heads for the cherry tree. He sets up the shot, but Pop’s camera is broken.
Conrad goes home distraught. He seeks help from his Pop, who remembers his camera, and with some tinkering, gets the camera working.
Conrad takes Pop to the cherry blossom. He sets up, however, yet again, the camera fails. Anger builds until, he sees Pop, content. He joins Pop and for the first time, truly sees the beauty of the world in front of him.
