Director Biography - Luca Costale

Luca Costale is a multifaceted artist with a career spanning theater, cinema, television, and radio. His artistic training began in 2003 at the theater workshop of "La Compagnia degli Imbarcati," where, from a young age, he dedicated himself to musicals.

Over the years, he has demonstrated extraordinary versatility, portraying memorable roles on stage and participating in films such as Cristina Comencini's "Quando la notte". He also co-wrote, co-directed, and acted in the independent feature film "Ricordi di Famiglia."

Luca has also explored the world of television and the web, hosting shows and making his debut as an actor on TV with Oh my God on Agon Channel. He was the narrator in 2021 and 2022 for RAI 3 in the program Kilimangiaro.
In 2024, he made his debut in independent cinema with the short film "The Tip of the Iceberg", which he wrote and directed.

His talent has been recognized internationally, earning him awards such as "Best Male Performance" at the Best Istanbul FF and "Best Actor" at the Golden Lion IFF for the short film Mele Rosse.

Today, Luca continues to dedicate himself passionately to his artistic career, working between Milan, Turin, Rome, and Switzerland, adapting and shining in diverse settings.

Artista poliedrico con una carriera che abbraccia teatro, cinema, televisione e radio. La sua formazione artistica è iniziata nel 2003 presso il laboratorio teatrale de "La Compagnia degli Imbarcati", dove fin da giovane si dedica ai musical.

Nel corso degli anni, ha dimostrato una straordinaria versatilità, interpretando ruoli memorabili sul palco e partecipando a film come "Quando la notte" di Cristina Comencini. Ha anche co-sceneggiato, co-diretto e recitato nel lungometraggio indipendente "Ricordi di Famiglia".

Luca ha esplorato anche il mondo della televisione e del web, conducendo programmi e debuttando come attore in Tv con "Oh my God" su Agon Channel. E' stato voce narrante nel 2021 e 2022 per RAI 3 nel programma “Kilimangiaro”. Nel 2024, ha debuttato nel cinema indipendente con il cortometraggio "The Tip of the Iceberg," che ha scritto e diretto.
Il suo talento è stato riconosciuto a livello internazionale, facendogli guadagnare premi come “Miglior Interpretazione Maschile” al Best Istanbul FF e “Miglior Attore” al Golden Lion IFF per il corto "Mele Rosse”.

Oggi, Luca continua a dedicarsi con passione alla sua carriera artistica, lavorando tra Milano, Torino, Roma e Svizzera, adattandosi e brillando in contesti diversi.

Director Statement

I think there is no real way to make cinema. Cinema is art, and like any art, everyone is free to express themselves as they wish. The important thing is to put your heart into it. And I put a lot of heart into this short film.

Penso che non esista un vero modo per fare cinema. Il cinema è arte, e come ogni arte, ognuno è libero di esprimersi come vuole. Seguire la tecnica è tutto, ma l'importante è metterci il cuore. E io ho messo molto cuore in questo cortometraggio.
