The suitcase of Madame Colette

A suitcase opened in 2016 uncovers the figure, life and work of Madame Colette. A woman of the world, born in France; a unique seamstress and reporter, who arrived in Mallorca in 1953 to recover physically from a long time living in the desert. In Sóller, small town in the north coast of Mallorca, she found the peace and space to lay down her roots and develop her career as a painter of botanic prints, showing the island’s flora to the world and exhibiting her work abroad, in places like London, Cleveland and Switzerland.
