The solar nail

The SOLAR NAIL

Syncretic beliefs manifest the will to access the dimension of the cure of ills through gestures that we recognize as rituals. What we recognize as "low magic" is nothing more than the formulation of a practice belonging to those who have always made their way in everyday life in search of a sacredness and a relationship with the divine that would exorcise bodily ailments. Therefore, arcane rites germinate linked inextricably to the elements and to a beyond-human with a dark semblance. There is no temporal or spatial framing: the landscape is a new dimension in which known codes do not apply, returned through limbo places in which to elaborate solutions or scrutinize unknown horizons and perspectives. The slow flow of pictorial images, lying in a false static nature, relates to the sea and the woods which become strategic points to carry out one's expiation. Incorporeal paintings inhabited by the vital breath, by the breath of existence embodied in the blood red of the waters and in the cold twilight light of an almost alien vegetation. What emerges, in this cascade of consciousness, is that the preferred path to appear in the light remains only perdition, a calm expectation of nothingness, an anxious listening of reason and instinct intertwined with that animality that guides and reveals.

The creative process is inspired by the folds of time, where the flow of time expands, becomes suspended and relates to the morphology and anthropology of the landscape.
The lyric of the pictorial image is revealed, remains in the retina of the eye to unfold and become naked to the appearance of things. The image changes in silence, the relationship with it is always ephemeral, with the urgency of having to stop something before it disappears.
Technique is never at the forefront of the creative flow, it is subordinate to the process, it is the image that suggests how it can be worked and through work thought takes shape, with experiments and techniques not always academic or formal.
