The Sentence

The movie talks about capital punishment which still prevails in various parts of the world. It also discusses about how the state interfere in the normal lives of ordinary people. A girl from the Northern part of India was shifted to a jail in South India due to some security issues. The court sentenced her to death. The non linear narration of the incidents which happens in her life after the judgement is mainly described in the movie. Crime, punishment, law, policing etc are deconstructed in this movie. The movie revolves around the conflict between the Jail superintendent who once served in Military and the girl in the jail who was sentenced to death for killing the soldiers. The movie ends up showcasing serious human right violations. The movie is also a struggle against out dated law of capital punishment. The story is purely fictional.
