Thermidome - Pilot

Set in a high-stakes, war-torn galactic future, Thermidome opens with a catastrophic event at Granville-Baker Station, where a mysterious Rift Generator activates, triggering a massive void in space—the Dark Corridor—and consuming the station in an instant. The fallout from this disaster reverberates across the Coalition, shaping future political and military conflicts.

Two years later, the newly commissioned Coalition ship, Thermidome, prepares for deployment, commanded by Captain Blair Neigtrev and Chief Engineer Trice Webb—a man obsessed with uncovering the truth about his missing brother, R.J., who vanished during the Granville-Baker incident. Meanwhile, tensions simmer between the Coalition and the alien factions of Astron Prime and Nexar IV, as fragile peace talks teeter on the edge of collapse.

Amidst escalating conflicts, a Nexarnic shuttle arrives at Thermidome, carrying near-dead occupants, its logs mysteriously wiped. As Trice and Blair investigate, the ship suddenly releases a deadly gas, nearly killing them, confirming suspicions of a deliberate attack. Elsewhere, General Ross Webb and Colonel Sara Bowers arrive at Outpost Moon Imma to interrogate prisoners linked to arms smuggling, only for the base to come under attack by Astron Prime marauders. In the chaos, Cyrus Prye, a disgraced Coalition general accused of treason, escapes captivity, hinting at a larger conspiracy involving the Rift Generator.

As diplomacy crumbles, the Astronian shuttle Endeavor explodes near the Thermidome, marking what seems to be an intentional act of war. In response, the Coalition mobilizes the Thermidome to the Dark Corridor, not realizing that Cyrus Prye and his forces are waiting there for them. The episode ends with a chilling revelation: the Prime Event, a mysterious cycle of destruction, is repeating, and the Thermidome is about to uncover the truth behind it all.
