Back in my first home, the memories I kept of my childhood were mixed with the memories of my grandmother Luísa. The portrait of her daily life will be the starting point to construct the family album that never existed.

João Araió is a journalist, poet and visual artist. He is based in Rio de Janeiro and joined collectives working in community communication, cultural production, human rights and popular education. He directed the short film “The real places are not on the map” and co-directed the virtual reality short documentary “Decolonize your eyes”, displayed during the UN General Assembly. The focus of his work is the research of narratives, daily life and legacy of traditional, peripheral and diaspora communities.
